In these days of political, financial and social uncertainty, in what do you
place your trust? What is it that gives you stability in the face of
difficulties? Is your trust in your fellow man? Or perhaps your trust is in the
business world, or maybe you trust in the government to supply your needs and
provide stability and certainty in your life.
The Bible says in Psalm 20:7, “Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but
we will remember the name of the LORD our God.” In other words, the Bible
acknowledges that there will be some who place their trust in governmental
powers and some in physical power, but those who are God’s people trust in the
supernatural power of His name.
There is no stability or certainty to be found in any other source of power
except the Lord. 1 Corinthians 15:27 says that, “He [God the Father] has put all
things under His [God the Son’s] feet…” In this life there is no real power
except for that of Jesus Christ. He is the Sovereign God over all things.
Jesus Christ Himself said, “I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes
to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6). There is no other way, there is no
other truth and there is no life to be found in any other but Jesus Christ.
It’s our hope that you and all those you love have come to understand these
truths and that you have placed your trust in Jesus Christ alone. We exist in
order to spread the gospel and share the truth of Jesus Christ. We hope you will
join us in the days ahead as we worship and praise the Lord, Jesus Christ.
